There are times where I wonder if that BEMDAS rule of operations in mathematics might actually apply to space time... I have altered nothing about the order of the following headlines in my "NEWS" category in my subscriptions and yet this RANDOMLY (har-de-har-har) appears in a sequential fashion:

These articles from the same news source, on the same day within 30 minutes of each other would appear to be complete contradictions... Go on, look at the published times posted in the stories found here and here, and follow whatever logic you see fit... I am already dizzy and have decided I no longer want to think about it, outside of the fact that somebody is fudging the numbers somewhere along the line since both cannot be true at the same time in the same economy unless 4x3²+2=324 or 196 instead of 38... Or, maybe I have simply forgotten how to math... What I am undecided about is which side of this is selling us something we did not want not need.

So I resorted to an old strategy, which predates the internet, I used to use for finding work. Go through an industrial park and wallpaper it with applications and resumés in hopes that someone would call back... I will assume that I picked the wrong industrial park since I could not find a single block that had no visible 'for rent' or 'for sale' sign throughout my journey, which I took the liberty of cataloguing as a photo journal... Rather than bore you to tears with a slideshow of poor photography taken mostly from the seat of a bus, I compiled it all into a single contact sheet which displays the map of the journey:

For the purpose of scale, an entire runway at the airport is clearly visible on the map
That airport is an international airport, and not some rural cessna airstrip.

Those are all the for rent or for sale signs I was able t get a picture of... Sometimes there were signs on opposite sides of the bus, and I deleted some which were completely obscured, and still ended up with about 32 signs... And not a single "we're hiring" sign in sight... I went back to one of the more promising streets to be turned away at every door. You would think that an area which is between an airport, and the train yards (not shown) would be much more sought out real estate for industry... I mean there is no lack of hotels along route 520 and not a whole lot of sight-seeing to be found in an industrial park, which a majority of the displayed map is, so what gives?

Maybe there is hope for some of humanity, just not all of it as the apparent conservative vs. liberal equation (morally, not politically) would appear to be at exactly the opposite of their expected stance on things. I do believe that you are allowed to be gay, if that is what you are, and do not consider such things to be a disease. I also believe that it's everybody's right to want and have a family... I also, however, believe that people have a right to not condone such things if that is truly how they feel, but think the referenced example in the linked video goes overboard on the commentary and preachiness... She is entitled to have an opinion, and should even have the right to voice it, but was there really a need to bring the whole restaurant into the debate? It hardly seems like the appropriate venue for such things.

I was aware that this was in the works, I even wrote about it two years ago. Not that I'm going to say I told you so, because nobody was reading my blog at the time, so I really only told me so. Obviously there is a very good reason for doing such things, which is quite simply: to do whatever they want whether against our laws or not with no consequences to them. While I am on obvious topics MM&A is going to leave Canadian taxpayers holding the bag whilst also screwing U.S. taxpayers out of about 27 million that was on loan from the USG. Well done!

I am on to your little corporate scam... Yes I understand why you think you need foreign workers to fill the jobs that Canadians 'cannot'. Funny, where are the language police when you need them? French isn't even a required language in this job (see the bottom in preferred skills)... Funnier still, just below that the go on about how 'ethical' they are. How long do you think it'll be now before Tepco declares bankruptcy? I'm honestly surprised they've held out this long given that the entire system is pretty much bankrupt (morally as well as financially).

Sometimes we need to set reminders for ourselves because we have a tendency, and even tenacity for droning on day in and day out. Some changes in life occur so slowly that we don't even notice them. Night becomes day, day becomes night, and there's been bad news on every channel for so long that unhorrendous news is now the good news, and it's still worse than the bad news was just a few years ago. Unless it's just a rehash of the exact same news that went nowhere any other time it's been in the news.

The war on whistleblowers has crossed the border into Canada, though I fail to see 'national security' being cited in this case. Maybe I simply have not put on my creative thinking cap yet, owing to the fact that I am presently waiting on the coffee maker... Oh, wait, I have it... They need to save a half million (per fraud auditor) to fix the sea kings, even though EI is not 'claimed' to be part of the general tax pool, and because the Sea Kings are part of the Coast Guard: National Security threat... and the Coffee is brewed, maybe I can math now.... IE has a maximum duration of 45 weeks and a maximum payout of $501 per week meaning someone reaching both maximums will have earned $22 545 from EI, so each 'fraud investigator' needs to kick a minimum of 21 people off per year, though not everybody gets the maximum (for example the government has been kind enough to provide examples, and I don't know how Sarah does it... single mom with 3 kids on 29k a year?!!), so I would put the number closer to 30.

There are certain things I really enjoy about where I live. I can have whole conversations where neither party utters a single word in the other party's native tongue, and neither party really gives this much thought. Bilingual panhandlers are not uncommon (think about that one for a second)... Walking the crowded sunlight summer streets of downtown, you encounter just about every race, creed, culture, and even language in just a few minutes... You'd hardly believe the politics of a language war had been ongoing for almost half a century aside from the occasional douchebag.

It appears to be a slow news day here in the land of looney twoneys and maple syrup. Of course, it's a holiday weekend, and a Sunday morning, so maybe I simply need to wait for "stupid" to wake up and say things as will inevitably happen... I'm done parroting on about Edward Snowden and Michael Hastings, the NSA, and the police state for the moment and have zero unread items in my news feeds right now, which suggests I might actually have nothing to talk about. Except that it's been brought to my attention that I haven't mentioned certain things in a very long while. I might have eluded to them, or put up links to them, and I've even done some funky math to illustrate them, but not openly said them...

I heard a good joke last night: Quebec spends $500,000 to examine wasteful spending by feds. I am not sure if that was the joke or the punchline or where the drumroll fits, but it made me cry so hard I laughed. I know it's not nice to cackle wickedly at dumb animals, but I could never take myself seriously as a card carrying member of PETA either. I am almost sure this idea came directly from PETA because it leads me to wonder if there is going to be a mass kill of now 'illegal to sell' animals. Sounds like the logic of PETA (or dumb animals) to me.

Another thing that struck me straight out of the "what could possibly go wrong?" department is why attract a potential doomsday that we don't fully understand for 'further study'? Maybe we'll learn something, or maybe it will kill us all, but there seems to be very large potential risks associated with very small potential gains in this plan. Of course I'm not a rocket surgeon so there is a potential that I have no idea what I am talking about. I'd defer to my gut feeling, but I haven't eaten yet so my gut is somewhat upset right now.

So what else is new?

Something isn't right... Everybody, and I mean everybody, and let me reiterate that I mean everybody absolutely everywhere seems to be having the same conversation, or variations of the same theme. I won't deny that it's big news that the CIA may have almost told some truth, nor that it's big news that the President of the U.S. does not officially deny everything...  Speculation about shill, traitor, or hero, speculation about real or faked documents, speculation about if this 'draconian system' has caught a terrorist yet, speculation as to how 'draconian' it actually is, speculation as to whether it's technologically feasible or not, and a whole bunch of congressmen who seem to be unaware of the programs they may or may not have approved of or have some odd or ambiguous things to say about it... Even BILDERBERG seems to be discussing it in some way. All angles are being examined on all sides... No problem, maybe this is a healthy debate which is the way an open society should work...

I was hoping to change topics today, but, there is still much buzz around Edward Snowdon and the things he's brought to light, and a few things I realize I had not yet said on the topic in yesterdays post. I'll start with something I realize is incomplete, the Metadata from my phone does not include 'cell tower locations' which the government's metadata most likely does. This is not a 'pin-point' accurate reading of your location, but rather a radius on a map that you were likely in at the time. For a demonstration of this, turn off GPS on your smartphone and open the maps application. It will display a circle (or at least it does on my Android phone). Your real location should be somewhere in that circle as that is the approximate coverage of the cell tower you are connected to, and I suggest 'should' because I have personally seen this to be inaccurate at times where I was physically completely outside the circle (I had 1 bar of reception at the time). The size of the circle varies based on how populated an area you are in because the tower can only handle a certain number of active connections, and because tall concrete structures tend to bounce signals in funny ways. This means, the Governments data on your location is more accurate when you are downtown, and extremely inaccurate while you are lost in the woods... So do not buy the excuse that they need this data to find you when you are lost in the woods, a hunting dog would do a better job following your scent from wherever you parked your car and began your misguided nature hike. I am not certain of the exact timeline, but I think we invented dogs before cell towers.

Not that it should come as any surprise because I routinely make mention of such things, but it's all right here in some black and white: somebody has had a 25% raise in 2 years while it's likely that those who work for him got 4.3% during the same time frame (except, of course, for those people who were outsourced, because those people got nothing). I can't decide whether it is because he is a scumbag CEO, or because he is scum of the earth banker that these things are considered normal, but it's probably both. Oddly enough, some of the names in this list dropped in salary which is likely still a far cry from having to eat beans and franks. Even less surprising, though, is that the chief of gold sacks tops the list...

I suppose there is truth in the statement: "shit floats" after all.

I'm not certain where science went, but, I don't think very much of it went into this conclusion which appears to suggest that a cause, was actually the effect... It's as if they are blaming the pedestrian struck and killed by a drunk driver, as though that pedestrian had fed the driver excess alcohol and handed him car keys then suddenly appeared further down the road in the exact correct time and place to be killed. In fact, what I've taken away from this story is that we 'should' expect to see more ice forming in Greenland in the coming years while the Northern Ice Cap shrinks some (possibly even at the exact same rates), but I am no scientist nor 'climate witch doctor' so I could be incorrect in my assumptions. Time will tell.

So they've been playing fun-with-numbers again. I would like to add that it's troubling that the gains have been in the public sector, while private sector jobs are still in the negative. They don't really highlight that fact enough, but it is really a matter of halting the $15000 welfare checks by paying them a government salary of a much larger number... It cannot help things for very long, and I doubt it will spawn a sudden recovery to anything but personal bank accounts or debt ratios for those newly appointed bureaucrats. It certainly does nothing to curb the outflow of tax dollars, nor generate new tax income. So I presume this is an exercise in making things look good on paper, I wonder who the potential buyer is?

Many, including myself, have pointed out that the CIA won an Oscar, this should remove any doubts of that fact. They know, all too well, that moulding public opinion these days requires some Hollywood pizzazz because those organizations claiming to report on the NEWS are losing credibility, because they routinely fail to point the finger where it was supposed to be pointing. We've become increasingly aware that NEWS is no longer the 'unbiased' information it would have us believe itself to be (if it ever truly was to begin with), because now it paints the agenda of it's owner in a much more obvious manner than it used to.

I know there's no amount of effort that I can personally put in that counteracts the effort of some others out there pushing one agenda or another, and some are pushing every agenda in under ten minutes, but that's not enough of a reason for me to give up hope. Bad people are doing bad things and for all the wrong reasons, no less. It is the same as it ever was, only now with less pie than ever before, and because the numbers lie, we actually don't have any clue how bad things actually are. With such disbelief and uncertainty is it any wonder that everyone is extremely jittery? And I say jittery simply because I can't find a better word for it, maybe I'll have to invent such a word: Terrorificified.

So many things and so little time... I'd love to pick a place to start but there is no real cohesive story to any of it... So it would appear that the static is back to being static.

I'm not sure if Boston was on my 'to-watch' list or not but there are certainly some odd coincidences. Everybody was present for the event, and a 'drill' similar to the event was being performed at the time. Then there was some anthrax ricin sent in the mail, and everybody has already told us who to blame, despite this, or this. I'm sure there is a word which describes all of this, and there's likely a reason too. I just can't seem to figure it out.

I have cut myself off from the world lately. It's been weeks since I read any news, and I've barely left the house. It's been a very deliberated effort to try to listen to the world from my inner ear... I don't feel I missed very much, and I don't feel any differently now than I did then. I guess things just don't change much in that short a timeframe...

I do this in the hopes of finding my reinvention, just as I have done so many times before. I can only play the role of cog in the machine for small bursts of time before everything falls apart. It's easy to lose things that you never actually had, by that I mean faith.

So there are yet more numbers games being played in the 3-card-monte of economic development. It's funny just how sterile it all becomes when real numbers are eliminated: 20% will hire, 5% will lay-off and 75% will do nothing.

While it looks good on paper that 15% increased jobs are the net balance of this meaningless equation, it is decidedly worthless data because we are not told if 20% of 1900 companies will hire 1 person or 20 people nor if 5% plan to terminate 1 or 20 people. Think about it for a second, if 380 companies are hiring 1 person while 95 companies are terminating 20 employees the total new jobs are -1520, while if those hiring are going to take on 20 new employees while those terminating will do away with only one there are 7505 new jobs... That's a 9025 person gap and I am just making random well-rounded numbers. Even taking things at a 1:1 ratio a whopping 285 jobs are created in a country of 34.5 million people. When stacked against the absurdly false 'reported unemployment rate' of 7% there are 2,415,000 unemployed people in Canada, which none of my imaginary numbers even dent more than 0.31%.

The so-called "experts" have started with their warnings (although, they're still pretty tame and toothless at this point)... After 'a period week economic growth' I suspect we'll find ourselves in a 'short period of moderate economic slowdown' followed by a 'mild recession' and ending with 'you should have bought gold in 1990'... But don't worry, the housing bubble hasn't collapsed because other experts are suggesting we'll have to wait ten years before a two bedroom condo becomes affordable... I am not surprised by any of it, and I'm sure I've mentioned these things before. Quite simply put: there is no way that debt as a currency compounded by interest can maintain status quo indefinitely.
