Pope’s child porn 'normal' claim sparks outrage among victims:Pardon me? Could somebody tell me where this horseshit comes from?
Victims of clerical sex abuse have reacted furiously to Pope Benedict's claim yesterday that paedophilia wasn't considered an “absolute evil” as recently as the 1970s.
In his traditional Christmas address yesterday to cardinals and officials working in Rome, Pope Benedict XVI also claimed that child pornography was increasingly considered “normal” by society.
“In the 1970s, paedophilia was theorised as something fully in conformity with man and even with children,” the Pope said.
“It was maintained — even within the realm of Catholic theology — that there is no such thing as evil in itself or good in itself. There is only a ‘better than' and a ‘worse than'. Nothing is good or bad in itself.”
I know it's plenty convenient to say all of this to 'absolve the sins' committed by the so-called men of God. Unless you consider all those hail Marys and such other penance and guilt doled out to to the non men-of-God sheep you consider yourselves better than. True, there is no 'thou shalt not fuck children' nor a 'thou shalt not covet lewd imagery of those too young to know right from wrong' in the commandments. Granted, at the time said commandments are claimed to have been handed to Moses, photography was a millennium or three away from being invented....
There is also this 'covenant' you toss about called marriage and claim the only proper sexual encounters should occur within that covenant lest you burn in hell for being an evil sinner... There's also that man and a woman thing (under this same covenant) which you like to throw out there because being gay is also an evil sin. But now, because it's convenient to the inner ranks of the catholic hierarchy there is 'flexibility' to these 'unbreakable rules of our lord the savior'?
Bullshit!
