I suppose this should start with the big surprise of the day's news, which was there are no big surprises. How does one of Canada's largest and and most valuable companies lose everything and not find anyone to blame for it? Is it justice that a company goes from approximately 93000 employees in 2000 to bankrupt in just over a decade and nobody is found guilty of any wrong doing? Billions of dollars in reserve cash, vanished into thin air...

Again, let me restate that I am not surprised by this... It all fits into the program where psychopaths have each others backs. Carpe Diem and don't shit where you eat. Vikings of the modern era own the governments and legislatures, the false paradigm of competition vs. law and order seem to have all signed their non-competition agreements with one another and even pay each other with my money while claiming it isn't what it is.

So this Quebec Corruption inquiry has been finding uglies under every rock it decides it will look under, I doubt it will end there and they will eventually have to add federal politics to their scope of investigation.
So far, we have mayors in Laval and Montreal as well as others below the ranks in the city level right up to election fund-raising. The province isn't faring much better. Of course as with all sinking ships, the rats tend to flee before things get really bad.

As per my normal stance, I am not very surprised by any of it. In fact, there are many I've lost touch with over the years, to whom I now owe very large 'I told you so's to. I'm not really petty enough to actually go looking for these people, nor do I have the time or energy to spare on such things in the name of vindication.

My next problem with all of this will be that I doubt any of these people will end up serving any 'hard time' for misusing the public trust, and public funds, then repeatedly crying how there is no money for this or that, while we pay some of the highest taxes on this side of the Atlantic.

The unbearable lightness of being (wealthy)

The CBC has determined that the average Canadian CEO will have earned the average Canadian's salary by noon today.

That is where we can distinguish the difference between the 1% and the 99%. It is rather sickening to think that some scabby rich person will have already earned my salary by (or possibly even before) lunch today... It might still be worse: they could spend twice what I've earned by lunch today on 'lunch' today, and then even claim it as a business expense. And I am willing to bet that my salary increase will be under inflation this year, why? Because it has not matched nor exceeded inflation in any year since the turning of the millennium, that's over a decade folks! Yet, CEO's and the über-rich have seen salary increases of 27% last year, while they had to tighten our belts.

#OccupyWallStreet - They just don't understand it, do they?

I've been reading a fair bit about the Occupy movement and find the MSM coverage to be rather hilarious. Sure, they have ignored it for as long as they thought possible, and have attempted to infiltrate it to ramp it up to a point of violence, and are doing their best to label it a pinko-commie-unwashed-hippie-grandstanding event. They are even trying to go so far as to paint it 'left' or 'right', not that these terms have any real meaning as the Dumbercrats and Repugnitans do not look any different from each other these days. I expected no less, these are all familiar tactics they use to attack what they choose not to 'investigatively report' on.

I have a better idea: in jail he can pay back the million @ $1 per hour at a nice sub-prime rate of half a percent... And because I am feeling generous I'll even count hours he's sleeping or being butt-raped in the general population. He'll be all paid off in 175 years (and I have left him $15 a month for bribes and smokes, which might give his butt an hour or two of rest per month).
